About

The First-Generation Student Success committee holds lunch gatherings of First-Generation students, faculty, and staff to create a space for community and connection. This group works to support the academic and personal success of our First-Generation students at UAFS through advocacy, programming, outreach, and mentorship.

“Attending First-Gen Fridays has helped me understand and learn more about the many resources I didn’t know were available for first-generation students,” said James Okoniewski, a geoscience student. “These include an incredible team of support that I attribute to helping me adjust to college.”

The funds raised through the Day of Giving will go to programming and scholarships for First-Generation students at UAFS.
