By giving to the UAFS Lions Dance Team, you’ll help our dancers attend a summer training camp in Las Vegas, where they learn alongside NBA and NFL dance teams and bring home choreography for an entire season.
The team performs 16 to 18 new routines during basketball season. Camp provides more than 40 dances to choose from, giving our dancers a range of material to learn and perform while representing UAFS.
“The exposure we are given at these professional events helps to give our team members the experience of the ‘next level,’” said Jordan Chamberlain, head POM coach. “Knowing that this creates opportunities for our athletes who want to enter professional dance careers, while also allowing us to operate at the highest level while representing our university, is incredible”
Training together also gives dancers time to strengthen the relationships they bring back to campus.
“My goal is for my athletes to remember the connections, the work ethic, and the drive it takes to be a collegiate student-athlete,” Chamberlain said. “The growth they feel from day one to their last performance, I want it to stay with them forever.”
