By giving to UAFS women’s basketball, you’ll help renovate the team’s locker room, creating a more comfortable, functional space where our student-athletes prepare for games and build relationships with their teammates.
Your gift will help replace all lockers and couches, with estimated costs of $22,500 for lockers and $2,000 for furniture. Updated lockers could include charging stations, while new seating would improve the space players share each day. As funding allows, additional improvements could include built-in cabinets and wall messaging that reflects the program’s approach to motivation and team development.
“It is their space and the place they can use to build community with each other and feel comfortable as a team,” said Ryan McAdams, head women’s basketball coach. “The locker room is a massive part of the student-athlete experience. Updating the locker room allows us to show them we have the financial resources to make their experience here one to remember.”
The renovation would also give prospective players a firsthand look at the university’s investment in their daily experience, demonstrating how committed the program is to their success.
“We lean heavily into holistic growth and the mental health of our athletes along their journey,” McAdams said. “When they look back at their time here at UAFS and in our basketball program, I hope they can reflect on their growth as a person, student, and athlete. We aim to make them feel challenged and cared for while they’re here.”
